Partner with Colby-Sawyer students from across all majors to explore, design and develop sustainable solutions in a local community.
Colby-Sawyer’s unique experiential learning opportunity brings you together with students from a variety of academic backgrounds for one common purpose: a higher quality of life for all.
The Sustainable Learning Initiative at Franklin Falls is your opportunity to partner with Colby-Sawyer students from all majors to explore, design and develop sustainable solutions in the nearby city of Franklin, N.H. It’s about creating a model of sustainability that can be replicated just about anywhere — and it’s a living and breathing example of what is possible when multiple disciplines come together for the common good.
Through classes, internships and projects you work directly with local residents as well as municipal, business and non-profit stakeholders, to solve complex problems using your Colby-Sawyer knowledge and skills. You share your research and results with community leaders for implementation or further exploration — expanding your network, building your resume and making a difference.
Since the SLI's launch in 2014, nearly 300 Colby-Sawyer students from across majors have participated in revitalization projects that pair their academic interests with their professional goals.
