March 1 is the priority deadline for submitting completed FAFSA applications. By meeting this deadline, the Financial Aid Office can package and provide a financial aid offer to you with as much decision-making time as possible before the May 1 Enrollment Deposit deadline. If you miss the March 1 priority filing deadline, you are still encouraged to submit a FAFSA.
The FAFSA can be filled out and submitted online at fafsa.ed.gov, and is available starting in December 2023. You do not need to wait for an admission decision from Colby-Sawyer before completing and submitting the FAFSA. Be sure to select Colby-Sawyer as one of the colleges to receive a copy of your FAFSA.
Create a FSA ID to access the Federal Student Aid’s online systems. The FSA ID also serves as your legal signature on the FASFA.
Colby-Sawyer may contact you via the email address or addresses on your FAFSA to request additional documents. It is your responsibility to check your email for these communications.
You are not required to complete a CSS PROFILE.
Satisfactory academic progress (SAP) is required in order to receive both federal and institutional financial aid. When the SAP requirements are not met, federal and institutional aid will be removed until satisfactory status is achieved. Additional information about SAP requirements and processes are available in the Colby-Sawyer SAP Guide.
Additional information and forms are available in the Award Guide.
