Smart Classrooms and Labs -- Helpful tips

Hardware/Software Maintenance Information Technology (IR) provides hardware repair, software updates, and maintenance services on all college-owned computers and peripherals. The College provides and supports all of the necessary software for normal business activities. The IT staff does not support personally owned computers, or software that is not part of the standard college configuration.

Network Account All faculty and staff have network and email accounts through the College. Colby-Sawyer College email accounts will be used for all official college email communication. This link will point you to instructions for setting up Outlook.

Courseware Network Support Before courseware is made available over the college network, proposed software needs to be evaluated for compatability. Faculty members that would like to use network software in conjunction with their classroom work should contact IT several weeks in advance to allow time for evaluation.

Courseware Web Page Support Faculty and staff members who have information they would like to be added to the college web site should contact their department chair. Arrangements can be made with Information Technology for training on using the College Web Editing System.

Campus License Agreement Colby-Sawyer College has entered into a campus license agreement with Microsoft. This agreement allows full-time equivalent faculty, staff, and students one copy of the Microsoft products the College is licensed for. This copy is for your exclusive use, on either a home or portable computer, for the duration of your employment. The Library Access Services Desk can help you attain a copy of Microsoft Office.
