Smart Classrooms and Labs

Most of the classrooms at Colby-Sawyer are equipped with a networked computer and an audio and video system which allows instructors to be as creative as they like with their class presentations. Typically digital resources are used and displayed on a projection screen using a ceiling-mounted LCD projector. DVD and VHS movies with stereo audio may also be presented in the smart classroom.

Smart classrooms are located in each of the academic buildings: Colgate Hall, Ivey Science Center, Mercer Hall, Reichhold Science Center, Sawyer Arts Center and the Susan-Colgate Cleveland Library. While most rooms operate in much the same way, there are some subtle differences in the equipment used.

A few of the smart classrooms are computers labs as well, with student computer stations in addition to the instructor computer. Please see this page for a list of computer labs.
