internships and careers

Learning On Campus…

At Colby-Sawyer, 100 percent of students complete an internship before graduating. Colby-Sawyer's Windy Hill laboratory school provides students with opportunities to integrate classroom theory and real life experiences with toddlers and preschoolers in a state-of-the-art green facility under the supervision of master teachers.

…And Off Campus

In consultation with faculty, students select and apply for internships which best match their acquired knowledge of child development and their skills and interests. During their required senior-year internship, students gain intensive practical work experience and valuable professional contacts. In the past, student interns have:

  • Assessed various roles in social service organizations
  • Shadowed professionals in early intervention programs
  • Student-taught in Head Start
  • Worked with children and families with special needs
