Designed to Inspire
With natural light, breathtaking views and 24/7 access to safe, well-ventilated studio spaces, the new Center for Art + Design is designed with you in mind, whether you create, perform or appreciate art.
Create alongside talented, like-minded artists and designers in our impressive new 16,000-square-foot Center for Art + Design. Opening in fall 2017, this hub of creativity offers state-of-the-art studios, a black box theater, a fine art gallery with stunning views of Mt. Kearsarge, scenic outdoor art and offices for faculty.
The new Center for Art + Design and the existing Sawyer Fine and Performing Arts Center combine to give you more dedicated arts spaces across campus. Having access to two buildings exclusively dedicated to the study and practice of the arts also means two galleries and two theaters, increasing opportunities for you to show off your talents – or show up to support your artist friends.
A Work of Art
The new Davidow Art Gallery will offer a range of national and international museum-quality exhibitions in a variety of media, as well as expanded opportunities for students and professional artists.
The gallery's inaugural exhibition will feature an impressive body of artwork collected by alumna Beverly Stearns Bernson ’55. “Selections from the Bernson Collection” will showcase her assemblage of outsider art — works produced by self-taught artists who are not part of the artistic establishment.
