What it Means to Be You

Storytelling, creative projects and thoughtful conversations occur everywhere at Colby-Sawyer, but they flourish in student-run groups dedicated to intellectual pursuit. The college offers more than 50 clubs and organizations to express yourself and pursue your passions. Here are some favorites that will help you explore the human experience:

Colby-Sawyer College Players

Participate on stage, or behind the scenes, in productions that promote theater appreciation across campus and in the community. Engage in opportunities to write your own scripts and discuss theater with other students who appreciate stage performance.

Film Club

Study and analyze international film movements from the 1950s to the present, and create your own short films that explore elements from each movement.

Philosophy Club

Ponder some of life’s most important questions. Meetings range from hosting guest lectures to informal, round-table discussions on topical issues.

Solidus

Combine letters with pixels to submit to the college’s literary magazine featuring fiction, nonfiction, poetry, photography and visual arts.

The Third Line

Publish your innovative writing and visual art pieces in the biannual anthology and its weekly webzine.

Word Order

Share and workshop poetry, prose and all other forms of literary construction with a group of students who love to play with language. Word Order hosts poetry slams, guest readings and similar events.
