Does Our Constitution Protect “Fundamental Rights”?

Debates over what, if any, rights should be explicitly protected in the Constitution have raged since our country's founding. With a high-profile abortion rights case making its way to the Supreme Court next term, Professor Eric Boyer will review these debates over so-called “Fundamental Rights,” and ask: are there rights that are so fundamental to liberty that they are protected even in the absence of explicit Constitution language?

She’ll also share information about Return Home Baltimore, a non-profit she co-founded, whose mission is to provide formerly incarcerated individuals the tools and support they need to restart their lives.
