Parking & Access

For the safety of pedestrians and to provide parking for students, guests, faculty and staff, restricted parking regulations will be in place Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9.

On Friday, May 8 guests attending the Scholars and Leaders Ceremony and/or the Nursing Pinning Ceremony in the Sawyer Center who require accessible parking, will be afforded access to nearby parking by event staff. General admittance parking will be available for guests in Lot E (adjacent to Colgate Hall).

On Saturday, May 9, campus safety officers and assistants will be at campus entrances to direct guests to designated parking areas for Commencement.

All parking lots are open to the public except for the following:

  • Quad roadways will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning 12 p.m. on Friday through the completion of the ceremony and reception on Saturday.
  • Both Shepard lot (E) and the Loop roadway (A) are closed to overnight parking beginning at midnight on Friday.
  • Faculty and Staff without mobility issues arriving for activities are asked to park on Main Street, in Lot K (adjacent to Mercer Field) or Lot P (across from Windy Hill). Shuttles will be provided from Lot K and P to upper campus.
  • Resident and Commuter Students on campus for Commencement exercises should park in LOT K (adjacent to Mercer Field) or P (across from Windy Hill) Saturday morning. Shuttles will be provided from Lot K and P to upper campus. There is no overnight or weekend student parking permitted in Lot E, Lot B, Lot C, Lot D, Lot M or Lot F as they are being reserved for visitors and special guests.

Reserved Parking & Special Access

Shuttle Services

College vans will be providing service to guests and employees who need rides from Main Street, Parking Lot K, P, and other areas.

Restrooms

Restroom facilities will be available on Saturday in Colgate Hall, Ware Student Center, Sawyer Center and the residence halls.

Inclement Weather

Commencement is a rain or shine event. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will remain under the tent on the Quad. Please plan accordingly.
