Dear students, faculty and staff,

This morning, the college was notified that two students have tested positive for COVID-19. The students have been quarantining since contract tracing identified them as close contacts of an individual who tested positive during last week’s round of pooled surveillance testing.

Both students are cooperating with the Baird Health and Counseling Center (BHCC) and are following the college’s procedures on isolation. The students will be required to remain in isolation until all criteria listed under the college’s Positive COVID-19 Cases/Isolation policies regarding a return to campus have been met.

Colby-Sawyer held its final pooled surveillance testing event of the fall semester this week, in which no positive cases were identified. Anyone interested in additional testing between now and Thanksgiving break is encouraged to contact any of the statewide testing sites listed here. Those who do not have insurance coverage for testing should visit nh.easy to apply.

With the prevalence of COVID-19 on the rise both nationally and here in New Hampshire, it is important that everyone on campus continue to follow the policies and procedures put in place to keep the greater community safe. It also encouraged that students remain on campus to the extent possible until Thanksgiving break. Colby-Sawyer has been fortunate in the low number of cases that have impacted the college this fall, and we are hopeful for continued success over the final two weeks of the semester.
