Colby-Sawyer College seeks an engaging and inspiring educator to join the School of Arts & Sciences. This full-time, tenure-track position will support both the new Creative & Professional Writing major and the Liberal Education Program for all majors. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, service, and continued scholarship or creative work.
Primary anticipated teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Academic Writing, Writing for Public Communication, and Copyediting. Other teaching responsibilities in areas of expertise could include courses in creative writing (Creative Nonfiction, Fiction, Scriptwriting); professional writing (Writing About Science and Health, other specialized professional writing courses); and/or liberal education (First Year Experience, selected Literature genre studies).
This position begins August 2022.

Qualifications include a terminal degree (PhD or MFA) in a relevant field such as Writing, Rhetoric, or Communication and an interest in teaching a breadth of courses. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level and a philosophy of education consonant with Colby-Sawyer’s programs and mission is required. This includes an active shared commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, in both course content and academic atmosphere.
