Healthcare Administration

With significant growth in U.S. health and wellness facilities and programs, there is an increasing need for qualified supervisors, managers, and administrators who understand both private and public healthcare systems. Effective leadership in health care requires solid business skills, as well as the desire to help others — successful administrators are those who are able to achieve a healthy balance of business know-how and compassionate care to make significant contributions to the well-being of their communities and the organizations they serve.

With Colby-Sawyer's B.S. in healthcare administration, you'll gain the skills and knowledge necessary for administrative positions in hospitals, rehabilitation and managed care facilities, nursing homes and other organizations. You will develop the business skills necessary to effectively manage the delivery of clinical care with courses in management, finance, marketing, human resources, organizational behavior and management communications. Acquire valuable knowledge that can help you better understand the populations and communities you serve through multidisciplinary coursework in a broad range of subjects.

You'll sharpen your resume by combining your coursework with field experiences, engagement in community partnerships, a self-selected internship and by working with faculty on research projects.
