Featuring Bella SilvaMy CSC Story

Kind heart, determination, the color purple, dad jokes, blonde hair, intelligence, drive to be successful, hustle, mother-hen. These are just some of the things that make Bella Silva who she is.

Bella came to Colby-Sawyer College in 2019 after being recruited for the field hockey team. She remembered, “Once I visited, I immediately felt at home. On Admitted Student Day, I looked at my stepdad and said, ‘This is it. I want to be here for the next four years.’ Within minutes, we put down a deposit.”

Since being here, Bella has fallen in love with the environment at Colby-Sawyer. She said, “Growing up in a small town, I wanted my college experience to have a similar feeling of family, comfort and a welcoming nature. Colby-Sawyer is just that.”

While majoring in criminal justice and minoring in psychology, Bella is a captain for the varsity field hockey team, co-president of the Alpha Chi Honor Society and member of the Presidential Blue Key Society, and she is involved with the women’s ice hockey team and varsity spring track. She said she has gained many things since coming to CSC, including more confidence, amazing friends, great connections and future references, and an education that will propel her into the next journey in life.

Bella is busy this summer working as a barista and cashier at a coffee shop and interning at a real estate law firm. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, reading, spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend, cooking and trying new recipes, listening to music and podcasts, learning and being a shoulder for people to lean on.

Bella plans to graduate in December of this year and hopes to attend law school next fall. When asked where she sees herself in ten years, Bella replied, “I see myself very happily married in a home my husband and I have built to raise children — and hopefully some doggies. With that, I also see myself as a successful, practicing attorney for my own law firm. I pray that we are all happy and healthy at the end of the day.”

Best wishes to you in all of your future endeavors, Bella!
