Maddie Lambert ’21My CSC Story

The official Mountain Day 2020 T-shirt was designed by graphic design major Maddie Lambert ’21. When the Student Activities Office (SAO) asked Maddie to create the new logo over the summer, a simple mountain scene appeared in her mind: tall peaks topped with trees bordered by a large, round sun. Maddie says she’s “giddy” seeing people tie-dyeing her design and knowing it will be worn by hundreds.

One of Maddie’s high school teachers introduced her to graphic design, and she was inspired to pursue the subject as her major. This passion only grew thanks to Academic Dean and Associate Professor for the School of Arts & Sciences Hilary Walrod and Adjunct Professor for the School of Arts & Sciences Doug Harp. As she heads into her senior year at Colby-Sawyer, Maddie says she can’t believe graduation is already in sight. “All of my favorite memories include being on the Campus Activities Board (CAB). Everything about it from all the events to all of the people I have met and all of the opportunities I've been afforded will always stick with me.”

Maddie serves as the Vice President of CAB and an Orientation Leader on top of working for SAO, and loves playing intramural volleyball each fall. Maddie says that she will look back on her time at Colby-Sawyer fondly and cherish the amazing people, lifelong friends and great memories she’s made.
