Destiny Cruz ’25My CSC Story

Destiny Cruz ’25 has not been on campus long, but she has already made a big impact. Destiny has just been elected president of SGA, was selected for the Presidential Blue Key Society (PBKS), is a member of the women’s field hockey team and is doing great in all of her classes.

Destiny fell in love with CSC immediately due to the sense of community, coziness of campus and the people. She said, “The welcoming faculty and staff that I met on my tour alone was enough to convince me this campus was going to be my second home.”

Now that she is coming to an end of her first year, Destiny said, “Our welcoming community is what makes us, us! I love how passionate everyone is to see everyone else succeed. This is displayed through our various support systems for students such as the Student Learning Collaborative and all the services Baird Health Services offers but it is also displayed well through the attitude all the faculty and staff show toward students and their success.”

As president, Destiny said, “I hope to accomplish many small goals but my large goal as student government president is to make sure that student government, as a whole, does our best to tend to the student body and really take advantage of our power as young adults with passion to make change on this campus in favor of our peers.”

Destiny also hopes to give back to the town of New London and the surrounding communities in her role as PBKS member. She said, “Community service has always been important to me and with the given opportunity, I hope to help other students become a part of the incredible sense of community we have on this campus and continue to help grow this unique characteristic our college holds!”

We are excited to see what you have in store for us, Destiny. Congratulations on your accomplishments so far!
