Medical Laboratory Science

Train for a career in medical and scientific laboratory settings with Colby-Sawyer’s BS in medical laboratory science.

As a medical laboratory science professional, you'll use your knowledge and skills to assist healthcare teams in the diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of disease. You are the key in finding answers that help patients and physicians make crucial healthcare decisions.

Colby-Sawyer's program consists of three years on campus preparing in the sciences, an 18-week clinical internship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, and a final semester back on campus for pre-professional courses – including preparation for the ASCP certification exam. With your degree, you can move directly into a career in disciplines including hematology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology and molecular diagnostics.

Accreditation

As this is a new program, Colby-Sawyer is not yet accredited. We are beginning the application process for accreditation through NAACLS (National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science). Students' eligibility to take the ASCP certification exam may depend on the college achieving "serious applicant" status with NAACLS prior to your graduation. We fully intend to progress through the process before our first cohort of Medical Laboratory Science majors graduates, and we will provide updates here and via email to students as we do so.
