Fellowship Program

The Colby-Sawyer College Exercise and Sports Sciences Master’s Degree Program provides its students the opportunity to apply theory into practice through participation in the Fellowship Program.

Students in this program will complete a one-year field experience while simultaneously completing their master’s degree, providing an opportunity to gain experience in a position aligned with their career aspirations, network with supervisors and other professionals in the career field, enhance their understanding of concepts learned in the classroom and gain a competitive advantage in the job market upon graduation. Fellowship opportunities are available for both the strength & conditioning and applied exercise science concentrations.

  • Gain 15-20 hours per week of hands-on experience as part of your Master’s program
  • Increase career and networking opportunities

What is an Exercise Science Fellowship?

The online asynchronous Exercise Science Fellowship Program at Colby-Sawyer allows students the opportunity to gain practical experience related to their master’s degree and career aspirations. The program is an optional one-year experience which runs simultaneously while a student is participating in the Exercise Science Master’s degree program on a full-time basis. Fellowship opportunities are available specifically for each concentration (Strength & Conditioning & Applied Exercise Science) and include positions both within the Colby-Sawyer/Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital system, and with outside partnering organizations across the country.

By participating in a fellowship, students not only enhance their understanding of concepts delivered through course lectures, but also gain a competitive edge in the job market as they obtain a year of work experience under a professional mentor and are provided with additional opportunities to network with organizations and professionals in their career field.
