Colby-Sawyer Students Organize Relay for Life Trivia Night

Gearing up for the 2015 Relay for Life at Colby-Sawyer College, organizers will host a trivia night fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Hall in the Ware Student Center. Admission with two raffle tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be provided.

Co-chairing the event are sociology major Taylor Wright '15 and psychology major Nichole Labelle '15, president and vice president of the Community Service Club, respectively. “Participants will play as teams,” said Wright. “Trivia questions will cover such topics as Colby-Sawyer, Disney movies and entertainment, among others.”

Wright encourages the Colby-Sawyer and the greater New London communities to come together for the cause. “All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life and then used for cancer research, patient care and other programs,” said Wright. “Plus, participants have a chance to win a Kindle Fire tablet, gift cards and more.”

The third annual Relay for Life at Colby-Sawyer will be held Friday, March 27, starting at 7 p.m. and continuing through 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, at the Dan and Kathleen Hogan Sports Center. American Cancer Society's Relay For Life events raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. Relay For Life campus and community events also honor cancer survivors and educate participants on how to reduce the risk of cancer in their own lives.
