Colby-Sawyer College to Showcase Students' Videos

NEW LONDON, N.H. — The Colby-Sawyer Communication Studies Department will present a Fall Video Showcase to screen videos produced by students in its Video I and II courses.

The screening will take place Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Sawyer Center Theatre. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The screening is a mix of beginner and more advanced videos all produced by Colby-Sawyer students and consists of fiction (narratives), documentaries, and experimental films. The videos were shot in a variety of locations, from residence hall rooms on campus to Boston during the Red Sox celebration parade.

“These videos will offer a sampling of the remarkable breadth of experience and creative talents of our students,” said David Reed, assistant professor in the Communication Studies Program, part of Colby-Sawyer's Humanities Department.

The films' subjects vary widely and include reminiscing at a country cottage, celebrating with Red Sox Nation, meeting a man who modifies cars, and getting to know an award-winning equestrian.

Twenty-four students from the video classes will serve as hosts through the evening of entertaining and informative videos.
