Colby-Sawyer College and Wheelock College Sign Articulation Agreement; Smooth Transition for Colby-Sawyer Graduates

Colby-Sawyer College has signed an articulation agreement with Wheelock College in Boston, Mass., that aims to ease the way for qualified Colby-Sawyer graduates to enter Wheelock's graduate programs in education, social work, organizational leadership, and teacher certification.

“Wheelock College is a leader in teacher certification, education, and social work graduate programs, and this articulation agreement provides our graduates who wish to pursue those programs a smooth entry process,” says Academic Vice President Taylor. “This agreement will be particularly advantageous to Colby-Sawyer graduates in the fields of child development, psychology and sociology.”

Under the agreement, Wheelock College will grant admission to its master of science (M.S.) degree programs in Education (Early Childhood, Elementary, and Integrated Elementary and Special Education), M.S. in Nonprofit/Organizational Leadership, or a master in social work to all students who apply within one year of their graduation from Colby-Sawyer. Students applying under the provisions of this agreement must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have one of the three required recommendations written by the chair or designee of the student's undergraduate major department at Colby-Sawyer. Application fees for any student applying under the terms of the agreement will be waived.

“As we continue our work together, faculty from our two colleges will develop plans for deepening the consonance between our undergraduate and their graduate programs, with a joint goal to support students in the successful and timely completion of their educational goals,” says Vice President Taylor.
