Colby-Sawyer Award

The Colby-Sawyer Award is given to the senior who, in the opinion of the faculty, best exemplifies the ideals of the college in personal dignity, intellectual growth, contribution to campus life and constructive influence on other students.

Quinn Stuebner ’21

A Wesson Honors scholar and a double major in sport management and business administration, Quinn Stuebner is not only an outstanding student, but also a valuable contributor to the cocurricular life of the college. Since arriving at Colby-Sawyer from Boise, Idaho, Quinn has established himself as a student leader respected by faculty, staff and students alike.

Quinn has consistently dedicated his time, knowledge and passion for learning to the college community. He participated in the Emerging Leaders program in his first year, was an orientation leader in his junior year and has been an advancement ambassador for the past two years. He has worked at the Student Learning Collaborative as a peer educator and group learning instructor since his sophomore year, tutoring students in sport management, financial accounting, business statistics and other areas.

As a member of the Exercise and Sport Sciences (ESS) Majors Club, Quinn assisted with the club’s Fall Cleanup fundraiser, organized student volunteer efforts for the Boston Marathon and coordinated off-campus trips to career fairs and sporting events. He served as president of the ESS Majors Club in his junior year. Quinn was a member of the men’s ice hockey and rugby teams for four years and served as captain of the hockey team, organizing game schedules and practices and working tirelessly to recruit prospective students to Colby-Sawyer.

Quinn has earned a spot on the Dean’s list every semester. He is a member of Alpha Chi honor society and has completed three internships and three capstone projects. In 2020, Quinn was awarded the Margaret (Marnie) A. Kurtz Merit Award for Business Excellence for his motivation, eagerness to learn, respectability and integrity.

Upon graduation, Quinn will begin a new role in Nampa, Idaho, as an area manager in the operations network for Amazon.com.
