Colby-Sawyer College offers students the opportunity to graduate with both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration over the course of five years. Students enrolled as business administration majors will have met all prerequisites needed to enroll in the college’s fifth-year MBA option upon completion of the bachelor’s degree program.

Students enrolled in other majors are also eligible to participate, but must complete a business administration minor and other preparatory courses prior to enrollment. With eight of the program’s 35 credits completed during one’s time as an undergraduate, and are therefore priced at the undergraduate-tuition rate, Colby-Sawyer’s fifth-year MBA option comes at a substantial savings to students.

Students interested in enrolling in the fifth-year MBA option should speak with their advisor and check in with a member of the business administration faculty. Prospective students should speak with their admissions counselor for additional information.

Why Colby-Sawyer’s 5th-year MBA program?

  • Live on campus in graduate-specific housing or live off campus
  • Five-year anticipated completion results in savings of both time and money in comparison to standalone graduate degree programs
  • Eight credits of graduate coursework taken during student’s senior year and included in undergraduate tuition, reducing the graduate per-credit cost
  • Combine online courses with face-to-face coursework
  • Focus in project management
  • Field experience includes work with a small team of classmates in a regional or community organization
  • Student-centered approach with one-on-one faculty relationships

    Program Eligibility

Colby-Sawyer students may indicate their intent to enroll in the fifth-year MBA program as early as their first semester. Acceptance into the program occurs in spring of a student’s junior year. Students eligible for the program must:

    • Have a 2.5 GPA or higher at the time of acceptance
    • Have a recommendation for acceptance from a faculty member or advisor
    • Complete prerequisite courses (see below)
    • Will graduate from their baccalaureate program no later than May of their senior year
    • $575/credit for CSC-alumni & employees
    • $600/credit for non-alumni
    • Of the 35 credits, eight are taken during a student’s senior year of undergraduate study, and thus priced as part of the student’s undergraduate tuition

    Community Partners

Students will be placed in small teams and work in appropriately selected community organizations to work on projects in a real-world setting. Field experience is partnered with an academic seminar to enhance hands-on learning and provide opportunities to reflect on challenges and successes.

    Program Affordability

Completing an undergraduate and graduate degree in five years helps streamline and speed up a student’s educational attainment. It is also an inexpensive pathway to an MBA.

The remaining cost of the program is $15,835. Cost includes one summer course (online) and two 12-credit semesters during the fifth regular academic year. On-campus housing and meal packages are available, but it is not required that students live on campus for the graduate year
