“Having the opportunity to stay at the school I love and obtain a master’s degree provides me with a strong support system as I further my education. I plan to come away with as much experience, education and advice as possible during my fifth year.”

Colby-Sawyer College offers students the opportunity to graduate with both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration over the course of five years. Students enrolled as business administration majors will have met all prerequisites needed to enroll in the college’s fifth-year MBA option upon completion of the bachelor’s degree program.
Students enrolled in other majors are also eligible to participate, but must complete a business administration minor and other preparatory courses prior to enrollment. With eight of the program’s 35 credits completed during one’s time as an undergraduate, and are therefore priced at the undergraduate-tuition rate, Colby-Sawyer’s fifth-year MBA option comes at a substantial savings to students.
Students interested in enrolling in the fifth-year MBA option should speak with their advisor and check in with a member of the business administration faculty. Prospective students should speak with their admissions counselor for additional information.
Colby-Sawyer students may indicate their intent to enroll in the fifth-year MBA program as early as their first semester. Acceptance into the program occurs in spring of a student’s junior year. Students eligible for the program must:
Students will be placed in small teams and work in appropriately selected community organizations to work on projects in a real-world setting. Field experience is partnered with an academic seminar to enhance hands-on learning and provide opportunities to reflect on challenges and successes.
Completing an undergraduate and graduate degree in five years helps streamline and speed up a student’s educational attainment. It is also an inexpensive pathway to an MBA.
The remaining cost of the program is $15,835. Cost includes one summer course (online) and two 12-credit semesters during the fifth regular academic year. On-campus housing and meal packages are available, but it is not required that students live on campus for the graduate year
